This Northchurch project brought together several different sides of M3’s domestic work in one job: roofline renewal, chimney removal, a bay window rebuild, and a first for the team, mock Tudor style barge boards. It’s a good example of what our domestic team can take on in a single project.
The Challenge
This property needed attention across several different parts of its exterior rather than a single, isolated repair. The roofline needed a full renewal, an existing chimney needed removing, the bay window roof needed rebuilding, and the front gable’s barge boards needed replacing in a style that matched the property’s period character.
Each of these jobs called for a different set of skills, from roofline installation to structural timberwork and tiling, all delivered as part of the same project.
The Solution
- Full fascia, soffit and guttering replacement in black
- Chimney removal, with the roof made good afterwards
- Structural build-up and timber work to the bay window roof, finished with tiling
- Front apex barge boards replaced in a mock Tudor style, a first for M3, setting the property up for its upcoming render
Scaffolding for the project was provided by M1, whose support helped the team access every part of the roofline and gable safely throughout.
The Result
The property now has a smart, uniform roofline in black, a neatly rebuilt and tiled bay window roof, and refreshed mock Tudor barge boards that suit the property’s period character. With the chimney removed and the roof made good, and the barge board work complete, the property is perfectly set up for its upcoming render.
