We’ve recently carried out major external works to four blocks of flats situated at Padnell Avenue in Waterlooville.
The works began with a full removal of all fascia, soffits and guttering, and replacing them with Swish UPVC products, as per the specification from our client. There’s a large overhang on the building, so on the underside we fitted a decorative hollow soffit board.
Due to the high flow rates on the buildings, we install deep flow guttering, which will reduce overflow and keep water moving swiftly.
Next we stripped all the verges on the gables and re-mucked them in full, going one meter up the roof and replacing the felt and batons. We also replaced all damaged roof tiles, and anchored all rafters for extra stability.
All new timbers were sprayed with anti fungicidal spray to new timbers for future proofing, and we fitted cavity socks to the perimeter of the building to comply with regulations.
Then at the rear of the blocks, we stripped out the roofing of the storage sheds and replaced it with a three-layer felting system. This is the ideal solution for flat roofs, and provides an impenetrable, waterproof seal to keep them weatherproof for years to come.
The waste management was controlled by zones, and the scaffolding is now up for the next phase of works.
We were delighted to have some great comments on the quality of our workmanship, and are very proud to be moving onto the next block for Phase 2.
